Ubu’s story

ubuUbu is a 2 year old Lab mix who came to our kennel in October 2015.  She had been owner surrendered after being neglected.  She had an advanced skin condition and malnutrition when she arrived, so she received immediate vet care.  Here is a photo of Ubu when she first arrived at the vet:

 

 

 

 

 

 

ubuShe responded quickly to medication and a nutritious diet, and her fur returned to its normal shiny luster.  Ubu is a friendly girl, but she’s calm and not a jumper.  She played well with the other dogs, and she loves people.  However, it’s difficult to find placement for a big black dog, so we all had our fingers crossed that Ubu would find a family to love her and take her to a forever home.

 

 

 

 

ubu adoptedThen, in mid December, a nice couple with 40 acres of land came to the kennel and adopted Ubu. They report that she is loving her new life and fitting in great in their family.  Now, isn’t that a happy ending to this story?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

ubuHSGC has made a difference in the lives of hundreds of cats and dogs this year, many of whom were sick, malnourished, abused, and neglected.  Through the generosity of many folks in our community, we have been able to rescue, treat, and rehome these animals.  Please keep us in mind when making decisions regarding donating to charity.  100% of our donations stay in this community, and the results are apparent locally.   Our success is entirely dependent on our donors.
